How Large-cap company works

The classification is periodically updated as company values change. Large-cap describes relative size, not business quality, valuation or a guarantee of lower losses; even the largest companies can fall sharply.

An example

If a company drops below the defined large-cap group at the next official reclassification, a category-constrained fund may eventually need to adjust its exposure.

Why it matters for your family

Large-cap equity can still be unsuitable for money needed soon. Use the label to understand portfolio mandate, then assess horizon, concentration and drawdown capacity.
